Women’s Health | Wellness Care
After completing a Bachelor in Science (Biomed), Dr Charlene completed her Master in Chiropractic from Macquarie University in 2005. This has been furthered upon over the years with many additional seminars and courses, including completing a one-year Certificate in Applied Kinesiology (CICAK) in 2018. The clinical use of Applied Kinesiology helps Dr Charlene in the management of several conditions, including headaches and jaw problems.
But it is in women’s health and wellness that Dr Charlene finds her interest; after experiencing the effect of pregnancy and childbirth Dr Charlene shifted her focus clinically to aid those looking at, are going through, or have gone through this process. Helping those who want to get the most out of life is one of Dr Charlene’s primary practice goals.
As well as being an amazing mother to two beautiful children, Dr Charlene is fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese.
What is Applied Kinesiology?
The easiest way to describe Applied Kinesiology is the use of resisted muscle testing and your response to that test to help in the process of figuring out what your body needs in terms of treatment or other management.
Why women’s health?
Dr Charlene has been personally struggling with hormonal migraines for many years, and set out on a journey to discover the cause of these headaches. From spinal malposition and muscular dysfunction, to lifestyle changes, stress responses and addressing hormonal imbalances, she has learned a lot along the way and has developed a passion in helping others that have been experiencing the same issues. She has learned how multifactorial some of these presentations can be, and loves working with her clients to help them achieve their goals.
In addition to hormonal migraines, Dr Charlene also enjoys working with women experiencing menstrual issues, pre-menstrual symptoms and those seeking pre- and post-pregnancy care.
