B.Sc.(Biomed) Β· M.Chiropractic Β· CICAK
After completing a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical) and then her Masters of Chiropractic from Macquarie University in 2005, Dr Charlene has spent two decades furthering her clinical skills across a wide range of post-graduate training β including a one-year Certificate in Applied Kinesiology (CICAK) completed in 2018.
It is in women's health and wellness that Dr Charlene has found her true passion. After personally experiencing the profound effect of pregnancy, childbirth, and hormonal health on the body, she shifted her clinical focus to support women navigating these same journeys β whether they are trying to conceive, are currently pregnant, or are in the post-natal period.
Dr Charlene is also an amazing mother to two beautiful children, and understands deeply what it means to balance the demands of family life with personal health.
Having personally navigated hormonal migraines for many years, Dr Charlene has developed deep expertise in the multifactorial nature of these presentations β from spinal malposition to lifestyle, stress, and hormonal imbalances.
Supporting women through every stage of their pregnancy journey β from pre-conception through to the post-natal period. Gentle, evidence-informed care tailored to the changing demands of pregnancy on the body.
Dr Charlene works with women experiencing menstrual irregularities and pre-menstrual symptoms, helping them identify contributing factors and develop a holistic management approach.
Holding a Certificate in Applied Kinesiology (CICAK), Dr Charlene uses resisted muscle testing as a clinical tool to help assess and manage conditions including headaches, jaw problems, and complex musculoskeletal presentations.
Applied Kinesiology is particularly effective in the assessment and management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction and related jaw conditions β an area where Dr Charlene has developed significant clinical experience.
Helping women who simply want to get the most out of life β not just those in pain. Dr Charlene's primary practice goal is to support clients in achieving their health goals, whatever they may be.
Applied Kinesiology (AK) uses resisted muscle testing and your body's response to that test to help determine what treatment or management your body needs. It is a tool that sits alongside standard chiropractic examination β adding a functional, whole-body lens to the clinical picture.
Dr Charlene uses AK particularly in the management of headaches, jaw problems, and conditions where standard assessment alone may not reveal the full picture. Her CICAK certification represents one year of post-graduate study dedicated to its clinical application.
Dr Charlene's journey into women's health began with her own struggle with hormonal migraines. Setting out to understand the cause, she explored spinal malposition, muscular dysfunction, lifestyle factors, stress responses, and hormonal imbalances β learning just how multifactorial these presentations can be.
That personal experience became a professional passion. Dr Charlene now works with women experiencing hormonal migraines, menstrual issues, pre-menstrual symptoms, and those seeking pre- and post-pregnancy care β bringing both clinical expertise and genuine empathy to every consultation.
Initial consultations run for approximately 60 minutes and consist of a thorough history, full examination, and treatment if appropriate.
